Mission Statement: To provide technical support relative to the maintenance and new construction of infrastructure facilities within the City to protect the health and welfare of all City residents.

Personnel: The Department presently consists of four employees. The City Engineer's duties are currently performed by City Engineer, Thomas Pinion. One full-time Engineering Technician and one full-time GIS Mapping Specialist assist in the performance of department duties. The Department shares the services of a Secretary with the Building Inspection/Zoning Department, Public Works Department, Assessor, and City Attorney.

Services provided, People Served: The Engineering Department serves all of the residents of the City by providing technical support to the Public Works, Parks and other City Departments. The Department is responsible for the maintenance of public records such as utility maps and public works improvement plans. In addition, the Department is responsible for the implementation of the sidewalk replacement program and review of proposed developments for conformance with City Ordinances . The coordination and cooperation with outside agencies such as the Department of Transportation on projects as they affect City's infrastructure is also a function of the Department.

Stormwater

 The Stormwater Utility was created on January 1st, 2006 and is managed by the City Engineer.
