2024 Projects

Water Utility Projects: 

 

WI Hwy. 33: 8th St/8th Ave Reconstruction will be underway from February-November, 2024.  The Water Utility will be replacing water main and all service laterals in conjunction with the State of Wisconsin project. The estimated cost of the Utility's infrastructure replacements will be $2,500,000

 

 Annual Maintenance activities will include the following:

  • Upgrade the City's water system by replacing lead-material services with copper
  • Water Valve exercising and replacing aged water main valves in the system
  • Fire hydrant flushing (generally occurring in the Spring & Fall)
  • Cross-Connection Inspections: Commercial and Industrial customers will be addressed by the Water Utility crew.  Some Residential customers will also be re-inspected

 

Future Capital Projects:

  • Well No. 4 Rehabilitation in 2025
  • Radio Read Collection Hardware Replacement in 2025
  • Evaluate Oak St. Reservoir Rehabilitation 
  • Establish Residential Water Meter Replacement Schedule

 

Sewer Utility Projects:  

 

WI Hwy. 33: 8th St/8th Ave Reconstruction will be underway from February-November, 2024.  The Sewer Utility will be replacing sanitary main, manholes and completing various manhole rehabilitations in conjunction with the State of Wisconsin project. The estimated cost of the Utility's infrastructure improvements will be $2,100,000

Water Street: Great Lakes TV Seal Inc. will be sealing sanitary lateral connections in this area.  The project was scheduled after last year's CIPP exposed the defects within the system

8th Avenue-East along Ochsner Park Riverwalk: 1800' Cast-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining 

 

Building improvements and Equipment purchases:

  • Doors for the Sampler and UV Control Buildings
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) - RAS Pump No. 3
  • Sluice Gates on Aeration Basins

 

Annual Maintenance activities will include the following:

  • Clean 24 miles of the sanitary sewer system in accordance with City policy
  • Identify & Educate customers on the Utility's FOG (Fats, Oils & Greases) Program
  • Update Mercury Minimization Plan
  • Periodic Flow Sampling of collection system

 

Future Capital Projects:

  • Establish facility plan for adding grit removal system to the influent flow
  • Televise & inspect the last 1/3 of the sewer main system
  • Evaluate emergency generator needs for existing unit replacement
