Resident or Non-Resident Fees
Why do residents receive discounted fees?
Programs offered by the Baraboo Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department are supported through a combination of registration fees, sponsorships, and City of Baraboo tax dollars. Residents help fund these programs through their local taxes, which is why they receive a reduced rate.
What is a resident?
A resident is someone whose primary home address is located within the City of Baraboo limits. Having a 53913 zip code or a Baraboo mailing address does not automatically make you a City resident. If you’re unsure, the aldermanic districts map can help give you a better idea of where the City boundaries are.
Why does my RecDesk account need approval prior to registering for a program?
When registering online, our staff reviews and approves new accounts to confirm residency. That’s why there may be a short delay between creating your account and being able to register for programs. Approvals are done during normal business hours.
What should I do if I believe an error was made on my residency status?
Prior to paying for the program, contact our office to have your status reviewed. parkrec@baraboowi.gov or 608-355-2760
