Lead or Galvanized Service Line

As your water service provider, the City of Baraboo is currently required by EPA rules to notify you that your water service lateral (the water pipe from the street to home) contains a lead or galvanized pipe material type.This is NOT an emergency, and your water is safe. These letters are for informational purposes only. We will send this notice annually until replacements are made. We are hopeful that soon there will be State and Federal funds targeted toward the replacement of these lines. Currently the City of Baraboo does offer a low interest loan to homeowners for the replacement of lead or galvanized service laterals. These funds are limited and currently available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Water Utility Mission Statement: The Water Utility's mission is to provide safe water for potable consumption for the citizens of Baraboo and also provide both flow and volumes of water for adequate fire fighting capabilities.

Sewer Utility Mission Statement: The Water Resource Recovery Facility's mission is to provide treatment of the wastewater generated by the City of Baraboo and 3 other municipal entities to levels meeting or exceeding the discharge limits set by the Department of Natural Resources.
