Requirements to register
- Citizen of the United States.
- Will be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.
- Have resided at the address you’re registering at for at least 28 consecutive days and don’t currently intend to move.
- Not currently serving a sentence — including incarceration, parole, probation, or extended supervision — for a felony conviction.
What you need
- Voter Registration Form (EL-131)
- Valid, unexpired Wisconsin ID
- Proof of Residency
Your WI ID can serve as your Proof of Residency if the address on it matches the address you’re registering at (Box 4).
Otherwise: a recent official document listing your name and that address — a state-issued document, paystub, bank statement, lease, or utility bill.
